TrapTap is a dash-mounted Bluetooth device created to assist drivers in avoiding speeding tickets. This small, yet intelligent device comes pre-loaded with over 1 million data points and is designed to inform you of the location of every speed trap/mobile hazard, school zone, speed limit, and red light camera in your city. TrapTap users have been proven to develop safer driving habits. And to top it off, it’s legal everywhere and works in more than 60 countries!
TrapTap was built to be extremely versatile, allowing you to move it from car to car, keep it in your pocket, or even take it traveling. Don’t let its small size fool you! Inside TrapTap is a powerful computer and has a 2-year battery life.

TrapTap comes pre-mapped with every red light/stationary camera, school zone, and speed limit in over 60 countries. The device works with our free app available in the App Store and GooglePlay Store. If you see a speed trap and your TrapTap does not light up, it means you are the first user to find the trap. Simply tapping on the device once alerts the rest of the TrapTap community of the trap. If you receive an alert for a trap that is no longer there, double tapping on the device will remove the alert. Since TrapTap relies on users alerting the community of police traps and does not detect radars, it is legal to use.
TrapTap was designed to be extremely portable, making it easy to move from car to car. With no messy cords or power cables and how simply it was built to mount anywhere in your vehicle, TrapTap’s sleek design simply fits in your pocket and has a diameter of 2.3″ and is about 1.5″ thick.
TrapTap is not a radar detector. Its community of drivers help mark the location of any radar trap and mobile hazard. Because of this, TrapTap is legal in a majority of the places we have mapped around the world, such as Canada, USA, Australia, and most of Europe.
Still skeptical? Here is some proof of its legality in the USA: A federal judge in the States passed a law recently allowing apps and similar devices to warn drivers of speed traps. Read about this here.
